Exact Model Order Reduction for the Full-System Finite Element Solution of Thermal Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication Problems

The derivation of fast, reliable, and accurate modeling procedures for the solution thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication problems is a topic significant interest in Tribology community. In this paper, novel model order reduction technique introduced analysis problems. method uses static condensation to reduce size linear elasticity part within overall matrix system, followed by splitting algorithm avoid burden solving semi-dense system. results reveal exactness proposed methodology, which does not introduce any additional model-reduction approximations solution. They also computational times, 10–20% line contacts, while it excess 50% circular contacts. robustness displayed using some relatively highly loaded contacts whose numerical known be rather challenging.
